Who we are

Pride Health and Social Care is a complex care organisation set up to deliver high quality, holistic and personalised support services to you in your own home.

The company was set up out of a shared vision of wanting to provide excellent services to people living in the community who need extra support, as well as a recognition of the lack of community-based services for people in crisis or wanting to return home after a stay in hospital.

Pride Health and Social Care is a nurse-led complex care company which provides teams of support workers to support service users with complex mental and physical health needs in their own homes or in rented accommodation. Dee Mhungu, the Director, has extensive clinical experience in the mental health (including forensic) field: Dee Mhungu is a RMN by background with forensic experience who was formerly a clinical manager of the Bristol Crisis Team. Our Head of Operations, Igor Correia Gouveia, is a qualified Probation Officer, by background, as well as former experience as Forensic Specialist LD/ASD Commissioner and an existing qualified social supervisor (S37/41 MHA Discharges) in Gloucestershire. We do also have an experienced team of senior nurses and carers with support workers in areas such as complex care, palliative care, learning disability and/or autism, as well as across mental health.

The most important part of what we do is ensuring that people we support feel involved and valued.  Our philosophy of care and support is based on the Roper-Logan-Tierney Model of Care and uses holistic methods such as the Tree of Life which values a person’s life history and values. Our driving belief, and desire, is to provide person-centered support that we are proud of and want to be able to support all individuals to lead their best lives. We recognise that this is, always, part of a wider team and multi-disciplinary approach, and work alongside other disciplines and teams involved in an individual’s care in order to achieve the best outcomes for that individual.

We are a close-knit team and greatly value the staff who work with us.
