Forensic Services

Pride Health and Social Care senior management team have a particular expertise in forensic services, including supporting autistic individuals with, or without, a diagnosed learning disability, as well as supporting individuals with mental health diagnoses such as schizophrenia, mood disorders and substance misuse issues.

We have experience, and clear understanding, of supporting individuals back into the community following detention under S37/41 of the Mental Health Act 1983 through a conditional/unconditional discharge, as well as for those that may be subject to MAPPA arrangements and/or custodial sentences (release on licence, subject to HMPPS management), community order or suspended sentence sentences. This also encompasses supporting individuals who may present with forensic risk, without convictions, but may have contact with police (through the potentially dangerous persons category or local interaction) or wider Ministry of Justice services.

We can also offer social supervision, as part of supporting individuals through to a conditional discharge (S37/41) through our trained practitioners, having completed the social supervision training, delivered by David Cochrane (Head of Forensic Mental Health Social Work Service, covering Broadmoor Hospital and West London Forensic Service).

If you, your relative or an individual you are aware of in a professional capacity have complex mental health issues with associated forensic risk, or know of autistic individuals (with/without a Learning disability) who present with forensic risk, we are able to develop individualised support plans, working with Multi-Disciplinary Teams, to assist individuals to support an individual to lead their best life in the community, safely, and support their well-being and recovery goals. These goals may include assisting with access to education, employment or volunteering opportunities.

We routinely conduct face-to-face assessments as part of any referral and handpick support workers who are carefully matched to meet an individual’s specific needs and preferences. Our management team oversee the support service to ensure continuity and coordination of care by facilitating effective partnerships between you, your family, relevant multi-disciplinary professionals and your support workers.
